summer, album
Background
I designed a hypothetical gig poster for the music artist Jeremy Zucker. He’s an Indie pop artist. In addition to the gig poster, I designed an album cover for the album on which he was touring. I also designed some merchandise to go with these two elements. I enjoyed this so much that I ended up doing it all again, for a second album the artist has out.
Research
I looked a lot at the artist on different platforms he was present on such as: Spotify, Instagram, a simple Google search, etc. I tried to get a good sense of his personality, his music, and the type of message he was trying to send through his work. I also listened to his music for two weeks straight to try and communicate his feeling through the pieces I was creating.
Execution
It took many rounds of drafts, critique, and adjustments to get to a final product I was happy with. I really wanted to combine physical elements and texture into my designs here and ended up experimenting a lot with different materials, some of which I ended up using and some I did not. Several of the pieces here include scanned textures and elements. I paid extra attention to the treatment of typography and really pushed it to achieve balance but to also break some rules.

website made from HTML and CSS
Background
About a year after designing the album covers and gig posters, I decided to code a simple website for the artist as well, showcasing the pieces I had previously made while also showing new skills I honed in basic CSS and HTML.
